Original Plumbing, San Francisco's trans male quarterly, is back in Los Angeles tonight as a program of Outfest. A project of trans male duo Amos Mac and Rocco Kayiatos, Original Plumbing celebrates trans male/gender queer lifestyle and culture, the first print magazine of its kind.
The performance showcase includes performances and short films by The L Word star Daniela Sea, Eden Batki, Math Bass, Zackary Drucker & Van Barnes, Raquel Gutierrez, Hi Fashion $9.99, Katastrophe, and Chris Vargas & Greg Youmans.
The showcase, which is presented in collaboration with Gender Justice LA, documents an often underrepresented transgender and queer community and will be followed by a reception where Original Plumbing photographer Amos Mac will be selling affordable, original photographs as well as the third issue of Original Plumbing hot off the presses! Also at the reception will be the Mobile Bookmobile, a free, donation-driven mobile library with an emphasis on queer publications.
Members of the genderqueer and transgender community are welcome to this creative environment. Tickets are only available at the door, but the reception following the showcase is FREE! The performance showcase begins at 8:30 pm at:
Redcat
631 West 2nd Street
Los Angeles, CA 90012
So come out with me and enjoy the many faces of LA's diverse community!
