Rookie filmmaker Kareem Mortimer's Children of God tells a unique tale of love that transcends the anti-gay culture in a modern day Bahamas. The film is premiering at 4:30 pm at Outfest, Los Angeles' premiere LGBT film festival.

Children of God, which Variety reviewed as "gorgeously lensed," has been critically acclaimed for its uncommon love story between local Bahamian Romeo and uninspired art student Johnny, whose love is condemned in a society where gay men are subject to brutal violence and murder.

Don't miss today's screening of Children of God at Outfest!

The film, although fictional, reflects the anti-gay attitudes in the Bahamas, where five gay men were murdered in 2008 alone. Fueled by strong performances and beautiful cinematography, Children of God is a must-see for LGBT film buffs looking for a breath of fresh air.

The film screens today at 4:30 pm at:

Laemmle Sunset 5
8000 Sunset Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90046

In case you can't make today's screening, you can catch it for its second and final screening on July 16 at 7:00 pm at:

Redcat
631 West 2nd St
Los Angeles, CA 90012
